These cute watermelon Rice Krispie Treats are both delicious and easy to make! To be honest they were almost gone the same day I made them. 😳 😂 They are also easy treats to make with kids and great for summer (or any time really)! I made these with my nieces and nephew and they loved them. For a better hold you can stick Popsicle sticks in the bottom (I just didn't have any).
Ingredients
Outer ring or Rind:
2 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows = about 15 marshmallows
1 1/2 tbsp salted butter
Green food dye
2 cups Rice Krispie
Center:
3 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows = about 25 marshmallows
2 tbsp salted butter
Pink or Red food coloring
3 cups Rice Krispie
2 tsp mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Spray 8 or 9 inch cake pan with cooking spray and set aside. For the outer ring, add marshmallows, and butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 2 minutes, 30 seconds stirring at 1 minute. Next add green food color, few drops, and stir, then rice krispies, and stir. Pack rice krispies around the edge for the outer ring. While making the other put it in the refrigerator. For the center, ( same directions as the outer ring) add the marshmallows, and butter in microwave safe bowl and microwave for 2 minutes, 30 seconds stirring at 1 minute. Add the pink or red food coloring ( more than you added for Rind ) and stir, then Rice Krispies, and stir. Pack the rest into the middle and refrigerate for 5-10 minutes. Then take out and sprinkle as many or as less chocolate chips on them and cut in to triangles. Then Enjoy ( the most inmportant step 😂 😊 )
